Spring has sprung!
It's a time of re-birth and new beginnings, and I'm FINALLY updating this space!

After months and MONTHS (literally) of my camera collecting dust from non-use, I've decided to bite the bullet and SHOOT!  Posting new stuff and old, you can read about my transformation and goals in my new photoblog:

My art and creativity are really priorities for me in 2007 (as is a new website), so I hope you'll continue to be on the lookout for new stuff!

So much for the overhaul - I've failed the masses yet again!

Well, it's been almost 5 months since my previous 'spring cleaning' post.  Things are cleaned..but it's like I shut everything up in a closet and am afraid to open it again!  I'm simply consumed with work...I edit images every single day, and when I'm home I just don't have any motivation to persue my own photography.  It's so depressing.  I have all these fantastic ideas rolling around in my head, but no time/energy/drive to implement them!  *grrrrrr*  I still don't even have my website up and running!  I need a kick in the rear to get me jump started.  I'm witness to inspirational photography every day...it inspires me to be better, but then I get frustrated with my equipment (or lack of) and sink into the 'boo hoo - I'll never be that awesome!' mentailty...I curl up with a blanket and sulk about how fantastic I COULD be, but alas, am not.  I need to do better in order to be better, so I promise to try.  TRY.  Yeah, yeah, I know...don't start quoting Yoda at me.  I'm going to make a conscious effort to work on my own craft.  Maybe just put aside an hour a week.  It's a start, right?

On a brighter note, I've become an auntie for the first time!   Little Annabelle Gracen was born on the 12th of August...barely 6 lbs...and she's quite a beauty.  Took some sweet images of her, but they're not as nice as I would've liked.  (AGH that mentality again!)  Maybe I'll post one or two here in a bit...  That's all for now.

Time for a overhaul!
A bit of spring cleaning, if you will...

For anyone who's followed my work and still bothers to visit this little space, I apologize profusely for not being around more frequently!  I honestly intend to change that in the months to come.

Since November, I've been working as a post-processor for a local lifestyle portrait photographer.  My editing job has now, 6 months later, grown to include design work (for books, cards, announcements, storyboards, collages, etc.) as well!  Most of my creativity has been focused toward the business, which makes it exceptionally hard to be creative with my own personal photography in my sparse free time.

For now, I'll do my best to add fresh images to this space, re-vamp and re-submit some of my old favorites, and hopefully contribute more and more each month.  Thanks for hanging in there with me, and thanks to everyone who inspires & believes in my creativity!

Hello, and welcome to Studio Be on

Concerning Moi:  I've been a member of dA for a few months now, so I thought it might be about time to pop an entry up on my page!  First off, hi there!  *laughs*  My name is Rebecca Jones, but most everyone calls me Becky (or Bex or Beck or...well, you get the idea!)  I'd classify myself as a "budding" digital photographer - I have absolutely no photographic education or formal training, I just really REALLY enjoy taking pictures...it's my livelyhood, you might say!   As you can probably tell from my gallery, I've developed a liking for floral and landscape studies, but I'm sure my tastes will expand with my skill!

Concerning Usage of my Photos:  I've been receiving bunches and bunches of requests to use my photos for web design, signature tags, blends, etc...  I DO allow this type of NON-commercial usage, but I ask that you please email me at trumpetvamp@hotmail.com for my specific credit requirements!  (Note:  my usage policy may be changing in the near future, so please stay tuned for a possible update on this!)

Concerning Everything Else:  Just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who has added me to their Watch and/or Favorites lists...it really means a TON to me that you think that highly of my work!  And a big Thank You to those who have left me kind and encouraging comments, too!!  On those days when I think, 'Ugh, I've still got SO much more to learn!' your compliments really lift my spirits!
